I had the displeasure last week to represent residents on Chase Road in our objections to a new off-license at a hearing of the Licensing Committee. This was my first experience of addressing a council meeting and I was shocked by the lack of care I witnessed, to the point where this blog was born to make my thoughts public.
Four Councillors were called to attend the meeting at 2:15pm on Wednesday 21st July 2010. Three from Lichfield, one from Burntwood. They were:
In the end, Doug Constable, the only Councillor from Burntwood, was a no-show which left us facing a committee of three, none of whom were from our town.
